there's a reason they're called "bug-eaters"

Yesterday I hit the road heading out to Colorado for New Staff Training, stopping for the night near Rockford, IL, where I picked up another new staffer, Courtney. Today we made the ever so uneventful drive from Rockford through Iowa and most of Nebraska, and we're staying the night in North Platte. This map is NOT really our route, but you'll get the gist of the point I'm trying to make by posting it--Nebraska is one wide state, and we've been driving across it for a long time.

This isn't really ALL that bad, but it has been nearly what I expected--mile after mile of corn or wheat fields, and very little else. We've definitely have had a fun time so far, though, but I'll be happy when Nebraska is over!

Another note: the bugs here are king. My windshield is all that protects us from "eating" them just like the locals claim to do. Today I praised God that I don't drive a motorcycle!
